| THE THEFT OF THOR'S HAMMER | |
Written and directed by John Garza Tireswing Theatre’s touring production each year uses the transformation style of theater to tell tales from around the world. This year’s tale is from Scandinavia. Thor has a problem. It seems he’s gotten a little too big for his britches and father Odin wants to teach him a lesson. Thrym, the frost giant, ultimately steals Thor’s hammer to use as leverage to take Freya, the goddess of love, as his wife. Loki, the trickster, helps Thor to recover his hammer and learn a few lessons about fair play, kindness and responsibility along the way.
In transformation theater actors use only their bodies, voices and very minimal props to tell the story, but the results are imaginative, exciting and fast paced. Book this show to come to your location and we’ll show you why we’re Imagination’s Playground!!?
