Shattered Globe Theatre presents
JUDGMENT AT NUREMBURG by Abby Mann August 21 - October 12, 2003 Adapted from Abby Mann's 1961 Oscar-winning film, Judgment at Nuremberg dramatizes the war crime trials of Germany's highest judges at Nuremberg in 1948. Instead of assigning culpability to Hitler and his henchman, these trials asked whether or not the entire German people were responsible for allowing unspeakable crimes to be committed without protest. Due to overwhelming demand, Shattered Globe presents a revival of this magnificent production, which the Chicago Tribune hails as "nothing short of astonishing!" Tickets $22 (Thursdays and Fridays), $25 (Saturdays and Sundays) more information at http://www.shatteredglobe.org/ |

THE LOCKS by Idris Goodwin November 21 - December 21, 2003 Hermit Theatre presents The Locks, a sly comedy by Idris Goodwin about sibling rivalry. Ever since they were kids, Odin and Venus Lock have been fierce competitors. From school, to sports, to careers, the two are always looking to top each other. When Odin meets the woman of his dreams and decides that it's time to settle down, Venus sets out to do the same, merely for the sake of besting her older brother. This sparks a contest that slowly escalates to absurd heights as the Locks attempt to sabotage each other's relationships, while trying to lead their own partners to the altar. Playwright Goodwin and director Brun's previous collaboration, Idle Threats, which premiered at the Chicago Cultural Center last winter, was praised for " ...rich characterization, crisp dialogue, and inspired plotting" by the Windy City Times.
