Tireswing Theatre 2003-2004

Tireswing’s touring show this season is an African folk tale, The Lion’s Gifts. This show will be presented in the “transformation theatre” style—the actors create everything right before your eyes. They become the characters, the furniture, the set, the sounds—everything. The transformation style is a key to unlock the imagination!

Every culture has its own version of how the world as we know it came to be. The Lion’s Gifts is an African anecdote of how the elephant got his trunk, the zebra got her stripes, etc. These gifts were all bestowed by the great king of the jungle. And the animals also find out what happens when they lack patience as well as kindness.
